Regional Outbreaks of Severe Weather Through Early Next Week; Early Season Heat Wave across the South

Active spring pattern across the center of our nation with several episodes of severe weather and heavy rainfall expected into next week. The potential for very large hail, long track tornadoes, severe wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes and flash flooding are in the outlook. The NOAA Weather Radio transmitters at Elizabethtown (162.550 MHz) and Ekron (162.450 MHz) may briefly go off the air today for preventative maintenance.  The maps below indicate the coverage areas for these transmitters, which include parts of the Louisville Metro area.  The transmitter in New Albany (162.475 MHz) still provides coverage for Louisville.
