Cold Front Moving Through the Northeast U.S. Monday; Atmospheric River to Impact the Pacific Northwest Midweek

A cold front will cross the Great Lakes and Northeast U.S. through Monday with gusty winds and areas of rain showers. A strong atmospheric river is expected to move into the Pacific Northwest by midweek bringing a threat for moderate to heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and mountain snows for parts of Washington, Oregon, northern California, and the Sierra Nevada. The annual CoCoRaHS March Madness competition is on and Nebraska wants to win the CoCoRaHS Cup! Help us
win this year by becoming or recruiting a new precipitation observer today!

CoCoRaHS is a dense network of volunteers who measure and report precipitation (rain, hail, and snow). The network
is made up of weather enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds who send in daily observations from their homes, schools,
and businesses.

CoCoRaHS data is then used by a wide variety of organizations and individuals including meteorologists, hydrologists,
emergency managers, local media, city utilities (water supply, water conservation, storm water), insurance adjusters,
engineers, ranchers and farmers, teachers, students, and neighbors in your community.
