
Catastrophic Super Typhoon Bavi's eyewall has reached Rota and is expected to bring dangerous winds, heavy rainfall and storm surge to Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Ryan Knutsvig is our new Meteorologist-in-Charge (MIC). His first day in the office was Wednesday, June 23.
Ryan is a native of eastern North Dakota, and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of North Dakota. He joined the National Weather Service in 2002, and has been stationed in Texas, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada, and Nebraska. He comes to our office after serving as the MIC at the NWS office in Grand Forks, ND.
