Fire Weather Concerns in the Intermountain West into the Plains

The pattern shift is underway today as temperatures will be 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. Moisture will increase across the area as a storm system approaches and moves through this evening into Wednesday. Valley rain and mountain snow is expected with accumulations mainly above 9000 feet of 6 to 12 inches. The bulk of this precipitation looks to occur this evening through Wednesday. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the western Colorado mountains above 9000 feet from 6 pm today until 9 pm Wednesday. Cooler and unsettled weather looks to continue at least through the end of the week.
