Another round of heavy rainfall will renew concerns for additional flash flooding and landslides in southern California around burn scars and coastal mountain ranges. A low pressure system is bringing enhanced snowfall downwind from the lower Great Lakes into the Northeast mountain ranges. The mission of the Grand Junction, Colorado, National Weather Service Forecast Office is to serve our partners and customers by accomplishing the following goals/gjt.

To do our best to protect life and property through the timely issuance of effective watches, warnings, and advisories of impending severe or hazardous weather conditions.
To prepare and issue useful weather and hydrology forecasts and climatological information.

Quality in our services is achieved by our staff striving to conduct themselves in a knowledgeable, courteous, and professional manner at all times.

This mission is accomplished by providing warnings and forecast of hazardous weather, including thunderstorms, flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, winter weather, and significant climate events. The NWS is the sole United States OFFICIAL voice for issuing warnings during life-threatening weather situations.
