Lake-effect Snow and Whiteout Conditions in the Great Lakes Region; Below-average Temperatures in the East

Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. This just in: More virtual spotter training classes have been announced for August of 2022, due to continued requests. These classes will be virtual using Google Meet. Here are the dates (ALL VIRTUAL THROUGH GOOGLE MEET):

1. Friday, August 19: 10 am – 12 pm (noon) MDT.

2. Friday, August 26: 10 am – 12 pm (noon) MDT.

A link to the Google Meet spotter training will be sent to those who register closer to the class date.
