Heavy Rain and Flash Flooding Concerns in California; Heavy Snow in the Sierra

An atmospheric river will bring heavy rainfall to lower elevations of California this week, and heavy snow to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Flash flooding, some of which may be locally considerable, will be a concern on the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains through Tuesday. Today (Wednesday, February 27th) between 8 am and 5 pm,

the Montrose NOAA Weather Radio (KXI-90 on this map) will intermittently lose audio.

The outage will be intermittent during the time listed above due to state technicians cutting over to the upgraded microwave line.  This outage will affect the Montrose, Delta, Gunnison and Ouray listening areas. The map below shows the approximate area of outage.
