Tracking Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall in the Southern U.S.; Winter Storm to Impact the Northern U.S.

A storm system will shift from eastern Texas into the lower Mississippi Valley Monday with additional threats of severe thunderstorms and heavy to excessive rainfall which may bring flooding. Frigid temperatures are expected across southwest Kansas tonight. Temperatures early Sunday morning will range from 10 to 15 degrees, with wind chill values possibly as low as zero to +5. This cold air mass will linger through Monday. Temperatures are currently expected to remain below 32 degrees until late Monday morning.
There is a 30-50% chance for snow across north central and portions of southwest Kansas Sunday night through Monday afternoon. Minor accumulations are possible, mainly northeast of the Dodge City area. Areas that do receive some snow accumulations may experience minor travel issues Monday.
