Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms is possible late tonight into early tomorrow morning across portions of Deep South Texas. Damaging winds (58+ mph) are the main threat for any severe storm, though large hail (1+ inch) and heavy rain are possible as well.

There is as much as a low to medium (20-40%) chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly across the Rio Grande Plains and the Northern Ranchlands, capable of producing heavy rain today into late tonight. There is a medium (40-70%) chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, leading to a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 4) of excessive rainfall across all of Deep South Texas. Isolated flash flooding or ponding on the roadways are possible.

In addition to the potential for heavy rain tonight into Thursday, there is a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 4) for excessive rainfall on Saturday for most of Deep South Texas, and a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall for much of Kenedy and extreme northeast Brooks County. Meanwhile, on Sunday, there is a Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall for areas along and east of IH-69C/US-281. Rainfall over this time period will most likely be between 1 to 2 inches, with locally heavier amounts of 3 to 4 inches. Continue to check back for updates to the forecast.

There is a Moderate Risk of rip currents at area beaches today.

There is a low to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms each day through the Holiday weekend and into early next week. Locally heavy rainfall across Deep South Texas will be possible Saturday and Sunday.
