THE FIRST TORNADO DEVELOPED AT 205 PM ONE MILE WEST SOUTHWEST OF
BURDICK IN SOUTHWEST MORRIS COUNTY AND TRAVELED FOR APPROXIMATELY 3
MILES PRODUCING F0 DAMAGE ALONG ITS PATH.
ANOTHER TORNADO DEVELOPED FROM THE SAME THUNDERSTORM AT 212 PM ABOUT
1 MILE SOUTHWEST OF DELAVAN IN WESTERN MORRIS COUNTY. THIS TORNADO
TRAVELED NORTHWARD FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES BEFORE DISSIPATING IN
SOUTHWEST GEARY COUNTY. THIS TORNADO PRODUCED PRIMARILY F0 DAMAGE
ALONG ITS PATH...HOWEVER F1 DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED AT FARMSTEADS IN
NORTHWEST MORRIS COUNTY. AT ITS WIDEST...THE TORNADO WAS 400 YARDS
ACROSS. SEVERAL OUT BUILDINGS WERE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED AT FARMS IN
ITS PATH.
ADDITIONAL TORNADOES WERE OBSERVED IN CENTRAL MORRIS COUNTY. ONE F0
TORNADO DEVELOPED AT 232 PM FOUR MILES SOUTH OF WILSEY AND TRAVELED
APPROXIMATELY SIX MILES BEFORE DISSIPATING 2 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST
OF WILSEY. ANOTHER F0 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN BRIEFLY AT 258 PM THREE
MILES NORTH OF PARKERVILLE.
TWO F0 TORNADOES DEVELOPED FROM ONE THUNDERSTORM IN NORTH CENTRAL
GEARY COUNTY. THE FIRST TORNADO DEVELOPED OVER OPEN COUNTRY AROUND
315 PM AND TRAVELED A SHORT DISTANCE BEFORE DISSIPATING. THE SECOND
F0 TORNADO DEVELOPED AT 320 PM IN NORTH CENTRAL GEARY COUNTY AND
DAMAGED A HAY BARN AND DESTROYED AN INDOOR HORSE RIDING BARN LOCATED
AT A FARM JUST NORTH OF INTERSTATE 70 AT EXIT 307.
AN F1 TORNADO WITH A TWO MILE LONG PATH DAMAGED PORTIONS OF THE FORT
RILEY ARMY BASE JUST EAST NORTHEAST OF JUNCTION CITY. IT CROSSED
THROUGH THE CEMETERY AT FORT RILEY AT 309 PM...TO THE ELLIS HEIGHTS
HOUSING AREA IN EXTREME SOUTHWEST RILEY COUNTY. LARGE TREES WERE
KNOCKED OVER IN THE CEMETERY WHILE THERE WAS ROOF...SIDING AND
WINDOW DAMAGE IN THE HOUSING AREA. THIRTY TWO HOMES SUSTAINED MINOR
DAMAGE.
AT 234 PM AN F0 TORNADO CUT A PATH FROM 3 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
HARTFORD TO ONE AND ONE HALF MILES WEST OF HARTFORD IN SOUTHEAST
LYON COUNTY. DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THREE FARMSTEADS AS WELL AS
ISOLATED OUT BUILDINGS BETWEEN THE FARMSTEADS.
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED WEAK...F0 TORNADOES...IN RILEY
COUNTY. ONE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN BRIEFLY AT 332 PM THREE MILES EAST
OF RILEY AND DAMAGED A BARN. ANOTHER TOUCHED DOWN BRIEFLY AT 328 PM
IN KEATS AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO TREES. A BRIEF TOUCH DOWN ALSO
OCCURRED AT 349 PM FOUR MILES NORTH OF RANDOLPH AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO
TREES.
A TORNADO OCCURRED OVER EASTERN DICKINSON COUNTY EIGHT MILES SOUTH
OF CHAPMAN ABOUT 232 PM. NO DAMAGE WAS REPORTED WITH THIS TORNADO.
