A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. A vigorous area of low pressure pushed into the central plains Saturday afternoon May 29th. Severe thunderstorms quickly became tornadic well ahead of a dryline stretched across south central Nebraska and central Kansas. WFO Topeka received numerous reports of severe weather, a summary can be found here. The reports received here were just part of a very active severe weather outbreak.
