Back-to-Back Pacific Storms to Impact the West Coast; Heavy Snow in the Central Appalachians

Back-to-back powerful Pacific storm systems to impact the Pacific Northwest and northern California through the end of this week with heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow. A supercell thunderstorm produced a total of five tornadoes in portions of Stanton, Cuming, and Wayne Counties, four of which were rated as violent (EF-4) on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. The tornadoes resulted in 2 fatalities, several injuries, and millions of dollars in damage.
