Critical Fire Weather Conditions in the Southern Plains; Showers and Thunderstorms Linger Over Florida

A cold front will linger over Florida through Tuesday, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms, and potential flash flooding concerns. Showers and thunderstorms will be most widespread across eastern and central Florida. An active period of weather is ahead with several chances of storms. Morning showers and storms will diminish, but isolated storms may redevelop this afternoon with a potential of an isolated strong to severe storms into this evening. The Tuesday evening period is still one of greater confidence for a more organized severe weather threat. Otherwise, much above normal conditions continue through the work week.
Morning showers will dissipate, but isolated to scattered showers and storms may redevelop later this afternoon into this evening. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but isolated strong to severe storms are possible with primary threats as isolated damaging wind gusts and isolated large hail.
We are continuing to monitor for the potential of a more organized severe weather threat late Tuesday afternoon and especially Tuesday night. All severe hazards are possible, but low confidence persists regarding onset time of the severe weather potential. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible Tuesday night.
