Dangerous Fire Conditions in the Southern High Plains; Severe Weather from the Great Lakes into Central/Southern Plains; Late-Season Mountain Snow

Dry and windy conditions will produce dangerous fire weather conditions across the southern High Plains into the Southwest. Severe storms, including very large hail, strong tornadoes, and winds, are expected from the Great Lakes into the central/southern Plains. Spotter Training Cancellations

Out of an abundance of caution and to assure public safety, the following Spotter Training events have been cancelled. 

The National Weather Service will be looking at dates and times for rescheduling these sessions.

Cancellations Include:

  • Lagrange County - 3/12
  • Elkhart County - 3/17
  • LaPorte County - 3/24
  • Whitley County - 3/25

This is in coordination with efforts to mitigate potential impacts of COVID-19. We will be evaluating the situation over the next several weeks.
