Lingering rain showers will affect the thumb region today. Otherwise, it will be cool and dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will only top out near 60 today. After chilly nighttime lows in the 40s, Sunday highs will approach 70.
Warm weather will return next week and will likely persist into mid September. Forecast highs will be in the 80s next week, which is a good 10 to 15 degrees above normal. It will be dry all week and nighttime lows will dip into the 50s.
Small craft advisories continue for Saginaw Bay and southern Lake Huron. A beach hazard statement is also in effect for Huron, Sanilac, and St. Clair County.
