Showers and thunderstorms are expected from Texas to the Northeast through Tuesday. Heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding across the central Gulf Coast into the Appalachians. The National Weather Service is looking for a volunteer Cooperative Weather Observer in or within 5 miles of Meade. We will provide all the equipment, supplies and training necessary to collect daily temperature, precipitation and snowfall data. All you need is your willingness to collect weather information on a daily basis and a location to set up the equipment. The equipment comprises of a temperature sensor with a digital display unit and a standard rain gauge. If you are interested, please call (620)225-6514.
