Dangerous Cold Persists through Monday; Wintry Weather from the Northern Plains to the Great Lakes

Bitter cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills will persist from Florida to the Northeast through Monday. Daily record low temperatures are forecast across the Southeast and Florida, with some all-time February low temperature records possible across Florida. The National Weather Service is looking for a volunteer Cooperative Weather Observer in or within 5 miles of Meade. We will provide all the equipment, supplies and training necessary to collect daily temperature, precipitation and snowfall data. All you need is your willingness to collect weather information on a daily basis and a location to set up the equipment. The equipment comprises of a temperature sensor with a digital display unit and a standard rain gauge. If you are interested, please call (620)225-6514.
