* WHAT...Visibility one quarter to one half mile in dense fog.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Iowa and east central and southeast
  Nebraska.

* WHEN...Until 8 AM CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

...Patchy Fog Continues...

Spotty fog will remain possible tonight, especially in areas with
less cloud cover and light and variable winds. There will be the
potential for some of this fog to be dense, with visibilities
dropping down to near one quarter of a mile. Those traveling this
evening should use caution, slow down, and be prepared for quickly
changing visibility.

Areas of fog will affect much of the area tonight, especially over
southeast Kansas and parts of central Kansas where some locally
dense fog may be possible at times.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, east central Nebraska, northeast Nebraska and southeast
Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Patch dense fog has developed along the Missouri River Valley.
Visibility may fall below a quarter of a mile in areas of dense fog.
The fog will dissipate as wind speeds increase Tuesday morning.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Northwest winds are expected to gust 35-50 mph across the area
Tuesday, with the highest gusts in northeast Nebraska.

While confidence is low on the details, there are signs of wintry
precipitation at times from Friday through Sunday. Monitor the
forecast if you have holiday travel plans.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Patchy fog will be possible across the outlook area tonight. There
will be the potential for some spots to have visibility drop down
to near one-half mile or less at times.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Strong northwesterly winds will increase across the local area
early Tuesday morning. Sustained northwesterly winds of 25 to 40
MPH are expected by afternoon, with gusts over 55 MPH possible
mainly north of Highway 6. A high wind watch is in effect for
counties generally along and north of Interstate 80 starting at 6
AM Tuesday. Winds should gradually subside Tuesday evening.

A mixture of rain and snow is expected Friday through Sunday.
Significant snowfall is unlikely, but minor snow accumulation is
possible. The probability for 2 inches or more of snow is around
30 percent. Details remain very uncertain and could change
significantly over the coming week. Continue to monitor upcoming
forecasts if you have travel plans.

DISCUSSION...

Light to moderate showers will continue through the early half of
tonight. There is a 20% to 30% chance for a rumble of thunder or
two through midnight.

Patchy drizzle and dense fog are possible behind the
precipitation tonight into Tuesday morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

There are 50% to 80% chances for precipitation late Friday
through the weekend. Keep up with the forecast if traveling for
the holiday.
