- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.4
feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage
tomorrow evening.

Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

Elevated excessive rainfall risk
DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms will continue through this morning across
the Rolla area. Hail up to the size of quarters, frequent
lightning, and localized flooding are the main risks there.
A complex of showers and thunderstorms will move into far
southeastern Kansas and southwestern Missouri this morning.
Damaging wind gusts up to 60mph, small hail, lightning and
localized flooding will be the primary concerns across extreme
southeastern Kansas and far southwestern Missouri this morning.
This complex will likely weaken as it moves east of Highway 65 by
this afternoon. A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of extreme
southeastern Kansas and southern Missouri through 1pm.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Another round of thunderstorms could move into the area by
Saturday morning, especially south of Interstate 44. Damaging
wind gusts and localized flash flooding are the primary hazards
however confidence is low with the track of this complex.
Additional thunderstorms, some severe, could develop Saturday
afternoon if enough heating develops.
A cold front will move into the area Sunday afternoon which could
cause additional strong to severe thunderstorms.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.
.DAY ONE...Tonight
Thunderstorms will spread east across the region tonight, likely
most numerous over southern Kansas. Additional heavy rainfall may
aggravate ongoing flooding concerns, with the strongest activity
also capable of producing small hail and gusty winds up to 45 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday
For Friday night into early Saturday, another round of
thunderstorms will impact mainly southern Kansas, with additional
heavy rainfall possible along with a marginal severe thunderstorm
threat.
Additional scattered thunderstorms are possible areawide late
Sunday through early Monday.

There is a chance for a few isolated thunderstorms tonight. While
a few storms could be on the strong side with small hail and
gusty winds, the better potential for severe weather looks to be
focused south of the outlook area.

Thunderstorm chances return Friday afternoon through the first
half of Saturday and again on Wednesday night. At this time, the
overall threat for severe weather remains low through Saturday
