walking near riverbanks. Turn around, don`t drown when encountering

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Calcasieu River near Glenmora.

* WHEN...Until early Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, When the river is rising and the gauge
  reading is forecast to reach 12 feet or higher. Roads upstream
  from Glenmora, including Strothers Crossing Road near the
  community of Calcasieu and Price Crossing Road near Hineston have
  water on them and are subject to being closed. Also, flooding of
  forested areas near the river will occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:45 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.1 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 6:45 PM CDT Thursday was 13.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    Monday evening and continue falling to 11.7 feet Tuesday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central Louisiana, including the following
  parishes, Avoyelles, Evangeline and St. Landry.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to
  excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow
  moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the
  water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in
  urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 552 PM CDT, gauge reports runoff and standing water from
    previous excessive rainfall. Flooding is already occurring in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Melville, Palmetto, Morrow, Bayou Current, Port Barre,
    Lebeau, Big Cane, Goudeau, Dupont and Whiteville.

This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

AREA...Northeast Oklahoma.
ONSET...Ongoing.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...Significant.
AREA...Northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH FLOOD.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms will continue to impact northeast
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas this evening. Severe weather will
be likely with these storms, with all modes of severe weather
possible. This includes a few tornadoes and perhaps a strong
tornado. Heavy rainfall is likely with these storms and will
result in additional instances of flooding. As a result, a Flood
Watch remains in effect across northeast Oklahoma through Friday
morning. Storm chances persist overnight tonight, though the
severe potential will be lower during this time.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Activation of the Regional Spotter Network Expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
FRIDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential.
SATURDAY...Thunderstorm...High Wind...and Dangerous Heat Potential.
SUNDAY AND MONDAY...High Wind Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential.
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Shower and storm chances will continue Friday into Friday evening
from northeast Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas with some severe
weather threat. Additional rainfall onto already saturated soils
may result in continued flooding concerns as well.

Hot, humid, and breezy conditions are expected this weekend into
the first half of next week. Afternoon heat index values will
likely exceed 100 degrees in many places Saturday through
Wednesday and heat headlines could be needed across portions of
the forecast area through much of next week.
