Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded.

- Off-and-on rounds of numerous showers and thunderstorms will
impact the region through Monday evening. The greatest chance
for round-after-round of heavy rainfall will be over
southeast Kansas, where widespread rainfall amounts of 3 to 6

DISCUSSION...
A band of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms will move into
parts of northeast Oklahoma by this evening and persist for much of
the night while advancing slowly eastward. Several inches of rain
may fall in a narrow band across parts of northeast Oklahoma,
which may result in flash flooding. Isolated severe thunderstorms
will also be possible this evening to the west of Highway 75 in
northeast Oklahoma. Main hazards with any organized thunderstorm
will be damaging wind gusts and large hail, but a low tornado
threat will exist.
Southeast winds will increase and become gusty later this evening
and overnight, with a few gusts to near 30 miles an hour
possible.

Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday
and Monday, with a larger part of eastern Oklahoma and northwest
Arkansas affected those days. Total rainfall amounts of 4 to 6
inches will be common through Monday, with isolated amounts up to
10 inches possible. There will also be threat for a few severe
thunderstorms, especially from late Sunday through Monday.
Another storm system will affect the area late next week, bringing
additional chances for showers and a few thunderstorms.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Numerous showers and thunderstorms will impact the region today,
most widespread generally along and west of the Kansas Turnpike, and
along and east of a line extending from Dodge City to Great Bend to
Lincoln. Widespread rainfall amounts exceeding one inch are likely,
with localized amounts up to around 3 inches possible. This could
produce localized minor flooding of typical flood-prone areas.
Heavy rainfall potential will shift east tonight, mainly impacting
locations along and east of the Kansas Turnpike. Localized minor
flooding is possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday
Off-and-on rounds of numerous showers and thunderstorms will impact
the region from mid to late afternoon Sunday through Monday night,
most widespread over southeast Kansas. Areas of very heavy rainfall
and increasing flooding concerns are expected. In addition, a few
strong to marginally severe thunderstorms are possible during the
afternoon and evening Sunday and Monday. Widespread severe
thunderstorms is not expected.
Another round of showers and thunderstorms is possible late week

Showers and a few thunderstorms are possible through tonight.
However...the threat for seeing strong to severe thunderstorms
looks to remain low through tonight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday
Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will become possible
Sunday through around Tuesday...with several inches of rainfall
forecast. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are forecast for the
northwest half of the state...with higher amounts approaching 6
inches across far northwest sections of the area. While most of
this rainfall looks to be beneficial due to the very dry
October...there may be an increased threat for flash flooding over
time as this activity moves over the same areas of recent
rainfall.
There will be an increased threat for strong to severe
thunderstorms on Monday into Monday night as a cold front
approaches the state. The best chances for seeing severe weather
will be across the western and northwest half of the area Monday
afternoon and night.

DISCUSSION...
There is a low chance (<20%) for a few isolated thunderstorms
this morning and afternoon along and west of Interstate 49. Most
locations should remain dry across the area through tonight.
Showers and thunderstorms will then develop across Oklahoma and
Kansas and will move east into portions of extreme southeastern
Kansas and far western Missouri tonight into Sunday morning. No
severe storms are expected. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible
west of Interstate 49 but the flood risk through tonigh it low.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Additional showers and thunderstorms will develop across the area
Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. A few strong storms will be
possible across far southwestern Missouri and extreme southeastern
Kansas. Heavy rainfall will occur with this activity and could
lead to localized flooding risk Sunday evening into Monday.
A cold front will push through the region Monday evening into
Tuesday morning bringing additional showers and storms to the
area. There will be the potential for strong to severe storms
late Monday into Monday night. Additional locally heavy rainfall
will occur with this activity.
