EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Above normal temperatures and dry conditions will prevail today
and into Saturday, but sharply colder temperatures arrive
following a strong Arctic cold front Saturday night. High
temperatures on Sunday and Monday are expected to be around 20
degrees below normal. Sunday night is likely to feature the
coldest temperatures of the season so far. A high chance of a
widespread hard freeze exists Sunday night and for some locations,
a low to medium chance of a killing freeze. In addition to the
cold temperatures, the front will usher strong and gusty
northwesterly winds into the region Saturday night and Sunday,
leading to even lower feels like temperatures. The cold snap will
be fairly short-lived, with warmer weather appearing likely
beginning Tuesday. Predominantly dry conditions are likely to
persist over the next several days.
