- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
Saturday afternoon to a crest of 17.6 feet early Sunday
afternoon. It is forecast to fall below flood stage late

distance of 1 and one fourth miles. Several county roads, mainly
along the left bank are inundated. Several residents which live
along the right bank in the vicinity of Highway 400 may experience
water entering their homes at basement levels.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 11.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 22.6 feet early Sunday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday
afternoon.

DISCUSSION...
Increasing severe threat into this evening with large hail,
damaging winds and also a tornado threat. Thunderstorms will
continue to develop along and near a cold front expected to move
into northeast Oklahoma late afternoon and early evening, and then
sweep southeast through eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas
through Friday night. The predominant severe weather hazard will
transition to locally damaging winds as storms focus along the
front during the evening hours. The greater storm and severe
potentials are anticipated over northeast Oklahoma into far
northwest Arkansas through the evening hours. After 1 AM, severe
probabilities should begin to weaken across southeast Oklahoma and
west central Arkansas before exiting early Saturday morning.
In addition to the severe risk, locally heavy rainfall and a
limited risk of flash flooding will develop through late evening
as storms expand along the cold front. The heaviest rains are
expected to remain north of Interstate 40.

Panhandles.

Widespread critical Fire Weather continues across the Panhandles
through the evening. A cold front will follow with north winds 30
to 40 mph gusting up to 55 mph. Wind Advisories are in place for
the entire Panhandles.
Isolated thunderstorm may occur in the eastern Panhandle early
this afternoon, but the bulk of the severe weather threat should
be east of the Texas, Oklahoma border.
A freeze warning is in effect for the northern and western
Panhandle tonight.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling
Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
Warm, dry, and breezy conditions will result in critical fire
weather this afternoon and evening. A Red Flag Warning is in effect
for much of the forecast area from 12 PM to 9 PM.
A cold front this evening will bring strong northerly winds in
excess of 30 mph to much of the forecast area. A Wind Advisory is now
in effect from 9 PM until 5 AM Saturday.
Thunderstorms will also be possible along the front in the Rolling
Plains tonight. The severe weather threat remains low.

Near-freezing temperatures are possible across the far southwestern
Texas Panhandle and northern South Plains Saturday morning, with sub-

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight
Severe storms will be likely this afternoon and evening along a
strong cold front. Storms are expected to first develop between
1 pm and 5 pm generally along a Marion, to Wichita, to Harper line
and track off to the east. Storms will exit southeast Kansas
between 10 pm and 1 am. Large hail and damaging winds will be
possible with the stronger storms. In addition, a couple tornadoes
will be possible, generally before 8 pm.
Very high grassland fire danger is forecast for areas along and
west of I-135 this afternoon due to gusty north winds.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday
Some frost will be possible Sunday morning for much of south
central and southeast Kansas.
Very high fire danger will return to areas along and west of
Highway 14 for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. This will be due to

Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

DISCUSSION...
There is a low chance (20 to 40 percent) of a thunderstorm across
southwest Missouri late this morning into the early afternoon
hours. Most locations will remain dry with southerly wind gusts
around 30 mph.
Thunderstorms are expected Friday evening through early Saturday
morning with an Enhanced (level 3 of 5) Risk of severe
thunderstorms along and northwest of the Interstate 44 corridor.
Large hail to the size of golf balls, damaging winds of 70-80 mph
and tornadoes will all be a concern, especially in the enhanced
risk area. The most prominent/likely hazard for the event looks to
be damaging winds.
Thunderstorms should move into southeast Kansas and western
Missouri as early as 4-6pm but more likely after 6pm. Storms will
then move southeast and reach the Interstate 44 corridor by
9pm-12am. Storms should then move southeast of Interstate 44
after midnight, ending before sunrise Saturday.
Flood Watch in effect Friday night for locations along and
northwest of the Interstate 44 corridor. Rainfall amounts of 1-2
inches are likely with a few isolated amounts of 3-4 inches,
especially closer to the Truman Lake region.

Temperatures in the lower to middle 30s Saturday night into Sunday
morning could lead to frost formation.
