This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a portion of eastern Kentucky.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
There is a risk of severe thunderstorms early this morning, with
damaging wind gusts being the main threat, but also a tornado or two
possible. Heavy rainfall is expected as well.
Additional thunderstorms, some with heavy rainfall, are expected to
continue today into tonight. Some of the storms could be strong to
severe with damaging winds the primary threat. Instances of large
hail or an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Flooding is also
possible in those locations affected by the most persistent
thunderstorm activity.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Thunderstorms are possible at times through Sunday evening. Some of
them may be severe, especially Saturday night.
Multiple rounds of heavy rain are forecast to affect the area into
the upcoming weekend. This will present a risk of flash flooding and
eventually river flooding.
A freeze is possible at many locations late Monday night and Tuesday
morning and again Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Strong winds will continue in the mountains and foothills through
late morning. Winds of 20 to 40 mph and gusts up to 70 mph are
expected in the central mountains and foothills with winds of 20
to 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph in the other areas.
Storms may reach the northern Cumberland Plateau and/or far
western Virginia this morning into the afternoon. If storms reach
these areas, damaging winds are the main threat, but a brief,
spin- up tornado is also possible.

...Severe Storms and Localized Flash Flooding Possible From Late
Sunday Through Monday Morning...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight
A major outbreak of severe storms with strong, long track
tornadoes, very large hail, and damaging winds is expected across
the Quad State this afternoon and evening, and possibly into the
overnight hours. Storms will move to the northeast at 60-70 mph.
The storms will eventually form into a line tonight, mainly over
west Kentucky. The line may become stationary resulting in heavy
rainfall and possibly some flooding problems. A Flood Watch is in
effect for the entire region.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for the entire region until midnight.
South winds may gust 40 to 55 mph at times ahead of the storms.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday
Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall
are expected Thursday through Saturday night. A Flood Watch is in
effect for this entire period. Significant flash flooding and
rapid rises on area rivers are likely. River flooding is already
forecast in some locations. The worst flash flooding threat will
be Friday night through Saturday night.
In addition, to the heavy rainfall and flooding concerns, severe
storms will be possible over much of the region Thursday afternoon
and night, and again Friday night into Saturday.
