This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.
.DAY ONE...Tonight
Gusty southwest winds and building waves will create conditions
hazardous for small craft early Saturday morning from Port Wing to
Bayfield and over the Outer Apostle Islands. A Small Craft
Advisory goes into effect at 4 AM.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday
Small Craft Advisories are in effect for portions of the North
and South Shores on Saturday due to strong and gusty southwest
winds and increased wave heights. The risk to smaller vessels
expands by late morning to include all of the South Shore waters
and North Shore waters from Grand Portage to Grand Marais and
Silver Bay to Duluth.
Conditions hazardous to smaller vessels will be possible again
Sunday night into Tuesday across western Lake Superior.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
.DAY ONE...Tonight
Light snow arrives tonight and will transition to a wintry mix.
Roads may become slippery. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect
for portions of far northern Minnesota into the Arrowhead, where
the greatest snow and ice accumulation are forecast.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday
A wintry mix will come to an end through the day Saturday. A
dusting up to 3 inches of snow is forecast by Saturday evening
over northern Minnesota and portions of the South Shore. Locally
higher amounts up to 4 inches may be possible in the tip of the
Arrowhead. Light ice accumulations of a glaze up to 0.1 inches may
be possible on Saturday in the Arrowhead and far north-central
Minnesota.
A wintry mix and snow arrives on Sunday afternoon. This wintry
mix will be transitioning to snow on Sunday night into Monday. A
Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Cook County and portions
of Lake County, where there is a 50 percent chance for 8 inches
or more of snow in the higher terrain near the North Shore. Snow
will come to an end Monday afternoon and evening with light lake
effect snow lingering in the South Shore snow belts.

Snow spotters are requested to report precipitation type, and
measurements of snow or ice accumulations to the National
Weather Service. Spotters and the public can also report
precipitation type with the free M-PING smartphone app.
