The National Weather Service in Memphis has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Phillips County in eastern Arkansas...
  Central Coahoma County in northwestern Mississippi...

* Until 330 PM CDT.

* At 1255 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Clarksdale, Elaine, Sherard, Kings, Crumrod, Green Grove, Rena
  Lara, Hillhouse, Modoc, Farrell, Hoop Spur, Bobo, Beverly, Ratio,
  Mellwood, Catron, Lundell, Mosby Spur, Ferguson and Clover Hill.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorms will spread into portions of eastern Oklahoma this
morning with a few strong to briefly severe storms possible primarily
across southeast Oklahoma. Storms are likely to decrease in coverage
by afternoon. Additional storms may spread into northeast Oklahoma
and northwest Arkansas late tonight. Overall severe weather potential
will remain isolated. Also, patchy morning fog is ongoing across
northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Motorists should be
prepared for patchy areas of reduced visibilities through the
morning commute.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
SATURDAY through THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
The weather pattern will remain unsettled through the weekend
into much of next week. Daily thunderstorm chances will continue, however
storms will not be continuous and periods of dry weather should be
expected. Locally heavy rainfall amounts are likely through early
next week though amounts will vary considerably across the region.

DISCUSSION...

Isolated storms may occur late this afternoon into this evening
mainly east of Highway 65. A strong storm may occur with the
potential for small hail, heavy rainfall and lightning.

Additional storms are then expected to move out of Kansas early
Saturday Morning. A few strong to severe thunderstorms may be
possible but the primary concern will be frequent lightning and
localized heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Additional chances for thunderstorms will occur off an on Saturday
through Tuesday.
