MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and northeast Missouri,
  including the following areas, in central Missouri, Audrain MO,
  Boone MO, Callaway MO, Cole MO, Moniteau MO and Osage MO. In east
  central Missouri, Montgomery MO. In northeast Missouri, Knox MO,
  Lewis MO, Marion MO, Monroe MO, Pike MO, Ralls MO and Shelby MO.

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Thunderstorms are expected to produce locally heavy rainfall
    of 1 to 2 inches per hour at times. Where these storms linger
    they may lead to localized areas of flash flooding.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following
  areas, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the
  following areas, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar, Dade, Dallas,
  Greene, Hickory, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald,
  Miller, Morgan, Newton, Polk, Pulaski, St. Clair, Vernon and
  Webster.

* WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Low-water crossings may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Training showers and thunderstorms are expected to result in
    widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with localized
    higher amounts up to 5 inches possible.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.

DISCUSSION...

 Showers and thunderstorms will move into southeast Kansas and
 southwest Missouri after midnight tonight. Lightning along with
 heavy rainfall and isolated flooding will be the primary
 threats. Areas west of Highway 65 are most likely to be
 impacted.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Shower and thunderstorm chances (60 to 90%) return Tuesday
through next weekend. Storms may be strong to severe Tuesday
evening into Tuesday night. A Flood Watch has been issued for
Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning, for areas mainly northwest
of Interstate 44.

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Smoke aloft from Canadian wildfires will remain over the area
today. Some of the smoke may mix down to the surface and lead to
minor reductions in air quality.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Occasional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are likely Tuesday
and Tuesday night. The Storm Prediction Center has a Slight Risk
(level 2 of 5) for severe storms across the outlook area, with
the main threat being isolated damaging winds. An increasingly
humid air mass will support heavy rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
inches, and isolated higher amounts are possible.

The pattern remains active for late in the week with periods of
showers and thunderstorms possible from Thursday afternoon into
Friday. Severe weather is not anticipated at this time.
