* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of central Indiana.

* WHEN...From noon Monday to 8 PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot and humid conditions expected Monday
  through Thursday.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
  central Michigan.

* WHEN...From Monday afternoon through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat and humidity will begin building in
  Monday...with Tuesday through Thursday expected to be the hottest
  days this week. This multi-day stretch of heat and humidity will
  bring high temperatures at least in the mid 90s with overnight
  lows in the mid to upper 70s. Dangerously hot conditions with heat
  index values over 100 are expected with values over 110 possible...
  especially Tuesday through Thursday. Hot and humid nights will
  bring little to no relief from daytime heat and humidity this week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Farmers should take action now to protect vulnerable populations of
livestock, poultry and equines.
