Warning for the following rivers in Illinois...
Skillet Fork River at Wayne City.
.The first round of what will be many repeat rounds of heavy rain
heading into next weekend will be incoming soon. The heavy rain is
forecast to cause the Skillet Fork River to rise above flood stage
at Wayne City later this week.
For the Skillet Fork River...including Wayne City...Minor flooding
is forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

early Friday morning to a crest of 16.7 feet early Saturday

week.
For the Little Wabash River...including Carmi...Moderate flooding is

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff is expected to result in flooding of

- This is expected to be a high end event with life-threatening

More rounds of heavy rain Thursday through Saturday night will lead

Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight
Thunderstorms re-enter the forecast late tonight, mainly over
southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. Locally heavy rainfall
and lightning will be the primary hazards, but some small hail may
also be possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday
A significant severe weather outbreak is expected Wednesday
afternoon and evening into Wednesday night. All severe hazards
will be in play, including very large hail, damaging winds, and
strong tornadoes. It will also be the first round of what will be
several rounds of heavy rain that will heighten the risk of flash
flooding and flooding Wednesday through the weekend; river
flooding is already forecast, refer to the warnings for more
details. This is a particularly dangerous situation.
Gradient winds will be high even outside of thunderstorms
Wednesday. Gusts into the 40 to 50 mph range are forecast.
Additional strong or severe storms cannot be ruled out daily
Thursday through Saturday.

across far northern Indiana into southern Lower Michigan.

There is an Enhanced Risk of severe thunderstorms Wednesday
from mid afternoon Wednesday into the early overnight hours Wednesday
night. There is a risk of all severe weather hazards including
damaging wind gusts, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. In addition,
some heavy rainfall is possible Wednesday night that could lead to
some flooding. The greatest threat of flooding is east of Interstate
69.
Additional rounds of rainfall are possible from late Friday into the
weekend. This additional rainfall could lead to some areal flooding
concerns across portions of northeast Indiana into northwest Ohio.

Southeast winds will increase this morning to 15 to 25 mph with
gusts up to 35 mph. This will lead to elevated fire danger late
this morning into the afternoon.
A strong storm system will begin to impact the area tonight.
Widespread showers and storms are possible with the best chance of
showers after midnight. There is a marginal or level 1 out of 5
risk for severe storm tonight. The main risk with these storms
will be large hail with a secondary threat being damaging winds.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY
This storm system will continue to impact the area during the day
on Wednesday with thunderstorms moving across the area Wednesday
morning. There is an Enhanced or level 3 our of 5 risk of severe

out of 5 risk of severe storms west of the Mississippi River.
Damaging winds and large hail are the main threats but tornadoes
