* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 7 PM CDT this evening. For the

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
  humidity may cause heat illnesses.

THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 109 degrees
  expected. For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions
  with heat index values up to 110 degrees possible.

* WHERE...Calhoun, Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee MS, Monroe,
  Pontotoc, Union, and Yalobusha Counties.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from 11 AM Monday to 6 AM CDT
  Wednesday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Wednesday morning
  through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
  humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of

A Heat Advisory is in effect across portions of east-central
Georgia through 8 PM EDT.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected across portions of north and
east Georgia through this evening, with the primary hazards being
frequent lightning, locally heavy rainfall, and gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday...

Heat index values up to the mid 110s for the majority of the area.
A Heat Advisory will be in effect across central into portions of
northern Georgia from 12 PM to 8 PM EDT.

Scattered afternoon thunderstorms are expected Monday and
Tuesday, before returning Friday and Saturday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will continue through
early afternoon, mainly north of I-40. A few of these storms may
become strong to severe, producing gusty winds and heavy rainfall.
Isolated flooding is likely across any areas that see repeated
rounds of showers and storms, especially during the
overnight/morning hours. A Flood Watch is in effect through 11 AM
EDT Sunday morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Very hot temperatures are expected Monday through Friday, with
heat indices expected to exceed 100 degrees in the Tennessee
Valley.
