...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN MORGAN...
SOUTHEASTERN WELD AND EASTERN ADAMS COUNTIES UNTIL 5 PM MDT...

At 412 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles west of Hoyt, or 30 miles southwest of Fort Morgan, moving
southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Leader, Hoyt and Adena.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Prepare for sudden gusty winds. Secure loose objects and move to a
safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected today.
Showers and storms will initially develop along the mountains during
the early afternoon hours, push across the eastern plains through
the evening, and likely linger into the overnight hours. The
greatest concerns with any stronger storms today will be outflow
winds of 60 mph, small hail, and brief periods of moderate to
heavy rain. The area with the greatest probability for stronger to
severe thunderstorms will be along the eastern border, and
specifically across Kiowa, Bent and Prowers counties.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected both
Sunday and Monday, with activity forming over the mountains early
in the day, then moving across the plains during the afternoon and
evening hours. All thunderstorms both Sunday and Monday will be
capable of producing small hail, gusty winds to 50 mph, frequent
cloud to ground lightning and periods of moderate to heavy
rainfall, and one or two storms over the eastern plains may become
strong to severe, with hail to the size of quarters and winds
gusts to 60 mph. Storms will become weaker and more isolated
Tuesday and Wednesday, then a cold front will bring increased
chances for thunderstorms both Thursday and Friday.

This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop mainly over the
eastern plains this afternoon and evening. The main threats from
the storms will be strong wind gusts that could reach up to 60
mph, though a few storms could also produce large hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Sunday and Monday will continue to have scattered afternoon and
evening thunderstorms. Some of these storms will be strong to
severe across the eastern plains with large hail and damaging wind
gusts the primary threats.

Very hot temperatures near 100 degrees across the plains are
expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

Spotter activation will be needed across the eastern plains today
or tonight to pass along any severe hail or wind reports.

High pressure building in will bring near-normal temperatures and
mostly dry conditions today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Temperatures gradually rise to 5-10 degrees above normal by
Wednesday, and remain there through the end of the week. A daily
chance of isolate showers or thunderstorms remains along the Divide
through the period.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will occur over the Bighorn Basin into
the Bighorn Mountains and northern Johnson County. Wind gusts of 60
to 70 mph and large hail will be the main threats. Additional
thunderstorms, though not as severe, will occur in the Wind River
Basin, Natrona County and the Upper Green River Basin.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.
