streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and
streams may rise out of their banks. High country mudslides are
possible, especially near steep terrain which could endanger
hikers. The upper portions of the Going-To-The-Sun Road is
vulnerable to rockfall or debris flow.

- Anomalous subtropical moisture combined with a slow-moving
weather front will trigger moderate to heavy rainfall rates over
the region by late Sunday afternoon into the evening hours. High
resolution weather models depict rain-rates exceeding 0.30 to

recreating and camping in the region, this could become very
dangerous very quickly.

Marginal (1 of 5) Risk for severe weather mainly late this evening
through the overnight. Confidence is low on storm development due to
very warm temperatures above the surface. If storms do form, hail up
to 2 inches in diameter and wind gusts of 60-75 mph will be possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
There is a Slight Risk (2 of 5) for severe weather Monday afternoon
into the evening. If storms do form, wind gusts of 60mph and 2 inch
hail will be possible. Additionally, the development of a tornado or
two cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures are forecast in the 80s to 90s with dewpoints in the
60s west of the Prairie Coteau and Sisseton Hills area and in the
90s to 100 degrees with dewpoints well into the 60s Monday around
and east. Heat Index values are expected to top out into the 80s to
the 100s. This will increase risk for heat related illnesses. Avoid
prolonged exposure to heat, take frequent breaks, and stay hydrated.

What: Widespread moderate rainfall over a prolonged period of time.
Storm total amounts between 1 to 3 inches for valleys and 2 to 4
inches for the mountains.
Where: Flathead and Lake Counties in northwest Montana, including
Glacier National Park.
Timing: Beginning Sunday afternoon, continuing through Monday night.
Significant rainfall totals will bring potential for rapid rises on
streams and creeks, rock and debris slides and runoff issues in poor
drainage areas. Those recreating in the backcountry should take
caution on backcountry roadways for falling debris. If camping, be
mindful of where you park your RV or pitch your tent. Avoid setting
up near water`s edge, as streams and reservoirs could rise rapidly
and flood your site.
