...Quick Visibility Reductions with Blowing and Falling Snow...

WHAT...Gusty winds with falling and blowing snow will quickly
reduce visibility down to around or under a mile. Winds may gust
up to 40 mph at times as well. Snow amounts will be generally
around an inch or less.

WHERE...Portions of southern into central and east central Iowa.

WHEN...Now until 5 PM.

IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions and slower than normal commute
times due to snow quickly covering roads and reducing visibility.

PREPAREDNESS AND PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS...Motorists should be careful
and prepare for quick changes in visibility and road conditions in a
short distance as snow showers move in and out of an area.

...Snow Showers with Reduced Visibility and Gusty Winds This
Afternoon in North-Central Missouri...

Areas of light to moderate snow showers will move across north-
central Missouri through this afternoon. While widespread travel
impacts are not expected, the snow showers may produce very light
snow accumulations, brief reductions in visibility, and gusty
winds up to 35 mph. Drivers should use extra caution this
afternoon.

Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited excessive cold risk.
  Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

Gusty winds up to 30 mph will continue until around sunset before
they diminish. Cold temperatures and wind chills are expected
tonight with lows generally in the upper single digits to teens
and wind chills in the single digits above and below zero.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Elevated to locally significant fire weather conditions will be
possible Sunday, as a dry air mass remains in place across the
area.

Single digit wind chills are forecast each morning Sunday, Monday
and Tuesday. The coldest conditions will occur Sunday morning
when wind chill values of five below zero to five above zero are
expected.

Wind chills will drop below zero degrees again early Sunday morning

morning with little to no accumulation expected.

Snow showers will persist this morning, and into the afternoon in
eastern Iowa. While accumulations will be light, wind gusts of
30-35 MPH at times will cause visibility reductions to around a
mile while snow is falling, along with slick and snow covered
roads.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Northwest wind gusts of 35 to 45 MPH will be possible around
Sunday afternoon, along with scattered snow showers.

Very cold wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero are forecast early
Monday morning.

Iowa, east central Nebraska, northeast Nebraska and southeast
Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Bitterly cold temperatures are expected today, with morning wind
chills of 10 to 20 degrees below zero and high temperatures in the
teens. Flurries and brief, light snow will also be possible through
the morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Cold conditions continue into Sunday, with morning wind chill
temperatures expected in the negative single digits. Sunday will
also be windy, with northwesterly gusts of 40 to 50 mph. There is a
15-30% chance of spotty snow showers on Sunday that could briefly
reduce visibility. Accumulations will be minimal.

Another surge of cold air arrives Sunday night into Monday, bringing
Monday morning wind chill temperatures to 5 to 15 degrees below
freezing.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Accumulating snow along with winds gusting up to 30 mph will be
seen into this evening. Accumulations look to be under an inch
south of the Highway 20 corridor. In the Highway 20 corridor 1 to
possibly 2 inches is possible. The strong winds are expected to
create drifting snow this afternoon which may result in roads
becoming partially covered with snow.

Tonight winds gusting up to 25 mph will help drop wind chills
below zero.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

Another storm system will bring more accumulating snow to the area
on Sunday. Accumulations will range from a dusting to potentially
an inch of two. Winds gusting up to 30 mph will create more
drifting snow.

Dangerous cold with wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero will be
seen across the area late Sunday night into Monday morning.

There is a potential for more accumulating snow Tuesday into
Tuesday night.
