* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, and
southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in central
Kansas, Barton, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, Rice,
Russell and Saline. In east central Kansas, Chase. In south
central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno,
Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk,
Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson.
* WHEN...From 1 AM CDT Thursday through Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Several rounds of thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall are
expected from late tonight through early Friday morning.
While not everyone will see flooding from rainfall, it
appears likely that several locations will receive enough
rainfall to cause flooding concerns.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don`t
drown.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

DISCUSSION...
Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue through midnight
southeast of Springfield. No severe weather is expected.
Areas of fog will develop overnight which could reduce
visibilities to less than one mile at times, especially over the
higher terrain of the Ozark Plateau.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Marginal (Level 1 of 5) to Slight (Level 2 of 5) Risk for
severe thunderstorms on Thursday into Friday. Damaging wind gusts
and large hail will be the main risks, with a lower-end risk of a
tornado or two.
Daily shower and thunderstorm chances persist through Friday. An
associated heavy rainfall and flash flooding risk will accompany
each round. A Slight Risk (2 of 4) for excessive rainfall and
flash flooding captures this potential today and Thursday. A
Flood Watch is effect from 1 PM Thursday to 7 AM Friday for
locations along and north of Highway 60.
Warm temperatures return to start next week with highs in the
lower 90s and heat index values in the lower 100s.

across the area. Quarter size hail and 60 mph winds may accompany

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday
A couple rivers across the area are expected to remain in flood
stage over the next couple of days. See latest river flood warnings

Periodic showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday through
Thursday night. A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible,
especially over southern Kansas, with up to quarter size hail, 60
