* WHAT...Heat index values up to 103 expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and
northwest Ohio.
* WHEN...From noon to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday and Thursday. The primary
hazards will be damaging wind gusts and large hail.
Early season heat is expected Wednesday and Thursday, with high
temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s combined with increased
humidity expected to bring peak heat index values well into the 90s.
Overnight relief will be limited with lows in the upper 60s and
lower 70s Wednesday night.
