* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches.
* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Illinois and east
central and southeast Iowa.
* WHEN...Until 3 AM CST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening
commute.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Slow down and use caution while traveling. In Iowa, the latest road

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Light snow continues to taper off through the evening hours; any
additional accumulations will be minor. Very patchy freezing drizzle
may occur through the late evening hours. With snow and precipitation
today, be prepared for slick spots through the overnight hours.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Wind gusts up to 30 mph Friday may lead to patchy blowing snow.
Additional snowfall late Friday night through Saturday. Generally,
one to four inches of snow is expected, with the lowest totals
currently expected for southwestern Minnesota. Isolated higher
amounts possible toward the Missouri River Valley.
Dangerously cold wind chills settle in for the upcoming weekend.
Daytime wind chills remain below zero. Coldest wind chills Saturday
night into Sunday morning range from 20 to 35 below zero.

Nebraska.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
A few slick spots may linger into early this evening in portions of
far northeast Nebraska into west-central Iowa as light, wintry
precipitation exits.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Another round of light snow is likely near and north of Interstate
80 Friday night and Saturday (60-90% chance). The highest potential
for slick, snow-covered roads will be in northeast Nebraska into
west-central Iowa (40-60% chance).
Temperatures turn much colder Friday through Sunday morning. Coldest
air temperatures of single digits above zero to around -10 are
forecast Saturday night into Sunday morning. Associated wind chills
of -10 to -20 are expected from northeast Nebraska into southwest
Iowa at that time.

Accumulating snow will occur across much of the OutLook Area through
the evening commute and tonight, before tapering off after
midnight. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of the
area where 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall. The heavier snowfall
amounts will fall south of an Iowa City, to Galesburg Illinois
line
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
Accumulating snow is likely again late Friday night into
Saturday. There is the potential for several inches to fall, with
current indications suggesting areas south of Interstate 80 the
more favorable areas for the higher accumulations.
Very cold air will move into the region this weekend, with wind
chills between 20 below to 30 below zero possible late Saturday
night into Sunday morning.
