PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Tombigbee River near Coffeeville Dam.

* WHEN...Until early Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 29.0 feet, pastureland becomes flooded. Livestock
  should be moved to higher ground. Old Ferry Road near the river
  begins to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 33.2 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:30 AM CDT Friday was 33.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    Monday morning and continue falling to 22.5 feet Wednesday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 29.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Tombigbee River near Leroy.

* WHEN...Until Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, flooding of low lying farm and
  pasturelands begins. Cattle in low lying areas should be moved to
  higher ground. Water approaches low lying roads on west side of
  river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 26.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:00 AM CDT Friday was 26.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 26.6
    feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage
    late Tuesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 24.0 feet.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Strong to severe storms are possible this afternoon across
southwest Virginia into the our northern portions of Tennessee
this afternoon, with a more widespread threat across our entire
area tonight.   Damaging straight line winds up to 70
mph and large hail up to 1.5" are the primary threats along with
a low probabilities of tornadoes. In addition, there is a threat
of very heavy rainfall leading to flooding especially across SW
VA, NE TN and the northern Cumberland Plateau this afternoon into
tonight.

Please have multiple ways to receive watches or warnings such as
NOAA Weather Radio and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on cell
phones.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Isolated strong to severe storms will remain possible across the
southern Plateau and southeast Tennessee for Sunday and Monday,
and area-wide Tuesday. Strong damaging winds will be the main
concern.

A more significant threat of strong to severe storms is possible
for Wednesday with damaging winds and hail. There is a good deal
of uncertainty of the extent and timing of these thunderstorms.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will likely be needed this evening into early
Saturday morning.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north and central Georgia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight...

A line of thunderstorms is expected to enter far north Georgia
late tonight. A few storms within this line could become strong to
severe. Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat with any
severe storms that occur, though hail, frequent lightning, and
locally heavy rain will also be possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday...

Periods of thunderstorm activity are expected between Saturday and
Wednesday, with the greatest storm coverage anticipated in north
Georgia. A couple of storms could be strong to severe on Saturday
afternoon and evening,

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

National Weather Service office in Birmingham.

There is a marginal to slight (level 1 to 2 of 5) risk for severe
storms from around midnight tonight through daybreak Saturday
morning, generally along and north of the Interstate 20 corridor. The
main threat will be damaging winds and large hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

There is a marginal (level 1 of 5) risk for isolated severe storms
that may develop Saturday afternoon and evening. Any storms that form
will be capable of hail and damaging winds.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Activation of storm spotters and emergency management may be needed
from late Friday night through Saturday night.
