...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM AKDT FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Yentna River including Lake Creek.
* WHEN...Until 100 PM AKDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 359 AM AKDT, The river gauge at the Yentna River at Lake
Creek indicates rises in water levels from heavy rain across
the warned area. Flooding is ongoing. Trees and debris larger
than telephone poles have been observed flowing down the
river. Between 1.0 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts of up to 0.5 inch are possible
with higher amounts possible in the upper Yentna Basin.
- For Yentna River at Lake Creek:
At 3:50am the stage was 22.4 feet.
Flood Stage is 20.5 feet.
Forecast: Cresting Wednesday morning above 22 feet.
Impacts:
Between 21 and 22 feet, several lodges may have water in or
around low-lying cabins.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM AKDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water
crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 359 AM AKDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated scattered rain showers continue across the warned
area. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts of up to 0.5 inches are possible.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
