* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues.

* WHERE...Russian Mission.

* WHEN...Until midnight AKDT Thursday Night.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying

    longer. Downriver from Russian Mission, the River Watch team
    overflew Marshall and Pilot Station. This ice is very rotten
    and shifted in the Marshall area but some stronger in place
    ice was visible near Pilot Station.

* WHERE...Lower Yukon River. This includes the communities of
  Russian Mission, Marshall, Pilot Station, and St. Mary`s.

* WHEN...Through Thursday evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - The ice jam 10 miles downriver from Russian Mission is still
    in place as of 4PM Wednesday. The ice jam is about 60 miles
    long with the most extensive overbank flooding occurring at

    numerous structures in the lower part of town are surrounded
    with water being reported in several homes. At Anvik and

...HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING FOR
POTENTIAL FLOODING...

...Locations Impacted...
Yukon Delta

As of noon Wednesday, an Ice Jam near Russian Mission has caused
water to back up from Russian Mission to Anvik. When the ice jam
eventually releases this water will flow towards the Yukon Delta.
Most large Yukon River ice jams during recent years decay, erode and
fail within a few days. The current jam at Russian Mission has been
in place for over 3 days. Water levels are expected to quickly rise
as the backwater makes its way downriver impacting communities like
Emmonak, Alakanuk, Nunam Iqua, and Kotlik.
