MPE requires at least 10 gage/radar pairs in order to calculate a bias. The 'Based on' column shows how far in the past MPE went back to get the required number of pairs. Current refers to the current hour. * The final three columns show the number of pairs used to calculate the bias, and the sum of the gage and radar accumulations respectively. Bias above 1.00 indicates RADAR is under estimating precipitation. Bias below 1.00 indicates RADAR is over estimating precipitation. A bias of over 1.50 or under 0.50 may be reason for investigation. * Manual overides to computed biases are flagged in the report. * Missing DPAs (Digital Precipitation Arrays) from the RADARS are flagged in the report.
