A quick hitting storm system brought another round of snow to the region on Thursday, February 11, 2009.  The first band of snow setup across the southern Rolling Plains during the early morning hours. The area of snow then expanded to cover much of the South Plains and Rolling Plains and even parts of the southern Texas Panhandle through the remainder of the morning, before shifting slowly east of the area during the afternoon and early evening hours. Many locations across the Rolling Plains and southern South Plains received 2 to 5 inches of snow, with Aspermont recording 6 inches before all was said and done. The above map depicts snow totals from around the area.
