THIS REPORT COVERS THE PERIOD JULY 5-6 2005 WHEN TROPICAL STORM CINDY
MOVED THROUGH THE CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO BEFORE MAKING LANDFALL IN
SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA NEAR GRAND ISLE AND AND THEN MOVED NORTH NORTHEAST
INTO COASTAL MISSISSIPPI.  DATA IN THIS REPORT ARE PRELIMINARY AND
WILL BE UPDATED AS NEW INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.

SIGNIFICANT STREET FLOODING DUE TO HEAVY RAIN IN SOUTHEAST 
LOUISIANA COMMUNITIES DURING LATE EVENING OF JULY 5 THROUGH EARLY
MORNING OF JULY 6TH. 

G. TORNADOES
SEVERAL TORNADOES REPORTS WERE REPORTED DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND
EVENING OF JULY 5. NO CONFIRMATION OF TORNDOES AT THIS TIME.

H. STORM EFFECTS
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS WERE RECORDED AT THE NEW ORLEANS LAKEFRONT
AIRPORT FOR 5.5 HOURS STARTING AROUND 11 CDT PM ON JULY 5TH. GUSTS
GREATER THAN 55 MPH WERE ALSO RECORDED EACH HOUR DURING THIS TIME
WITH A PEAK GUST OF 70 MPH AT 116 AM CDT.

LONG DURATION OF TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS AND HIGH GUSTS
CONTRIBUTED TO CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO TREES AND FOLIAGE IN SOUTHEAST
LOUISIANA...AND RESULTED IN POWER OUTAGES DUE TO DOWNED ELECTRICAL LINES.
AN ESTIMATED 278,000 ELECTICAL CUSTOMER HAD POWER OUTAGES.
