Plan for difficult travel conditions, and check for updates.
Storm Timeline Update: We are tracking the arrival of accumulating snow across the region. Snow has already moved into central Minnesota and will continue to spread north and east through tonight. Expect the heaviest snow and strongest winds to impact travel late Saturday night and Sunday morning. Conditions should begin to improve from west to east Sunday afternoon and evening.
In addition to significant snowfall, strong northerly winds are forecast to impact the region starting early Sunday morning. Maximum gusts could reach 40–55 mph, particularly along the North Shore and into parts of Northwest Wisconsin. These winds will lead to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
