The Storm Strengthens...

2:24 p.m.

Now that everyone is inside and aware of the storm you go to weather.gov/rgv and click on your workplaces location. You see a new Severe Weather Statement has just been issued and Twitter shows this new graphic

What's Important?

The storm has grown stronger! The warning is now for winds as high as 80 mph and baseball sized hail. How do they know that? Check this page out. Winds at that speed, especially combined with such large hail will be capable of serious damage! The windows of your business could be knocked out and the roof removed or damaged.

The storm is also getting a little closer.

What Do you Do?

You call your family in south Alamo to make sure they know about it, they do, but with the new information they send a text message to their neighbor, who didn't realize there was bad weather around! They say thanks and tune into local TV to find out more.

You also quickly confer with the facility supervisor and agree that just sheltering indoors may not be enough to keep safe from this storm. You know from your office's severe weather action plan that there is enough room for everyone in the breakroom, which is a small room in the center of the building with no exterior walls.
