Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. The office's NOAA Weather Radio alerts again. Another Severe Thunderstorm Warning, the thunder gets louder and the storm is almost on top of you. You close the door to the break room and everyone sits on the floor just as the power goes out.

Whats Important?

The storm is just minutes away from you. This latest warning has the most serious wording yet! Winds of over 100 mph, which can do damage like that of a tornado.

What Do You Do?

Since the storm is expected to produce tornado-like winds, everyone takes full tornado precautions. They are already in an interior room on the lowest floor, there are as many walls between them and the outside as possible and the room has a small roof area. They get into the protection position to protect their head from flying debris.
