Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible through early Wednesday morning across parts of northeast Texas into western Tennessee. Read More >

 

Come Visit NWS Brownsville at the Air Fiesta!
Weekend of Fun Planned March 14th and 15th

The National Weather Service office in Brownsville will be hosting a display during the 2009 Air Fiesta, sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force, Rio Grande Valley Wing. All are invited to stop by our table and visit with local meteorologists, learn about aviation and tropical weather, and check out a weather balloon. Interactive displays, including our new tornado chamber, will be available for all to enjoy and experience. There is plenty to do and many things to see at this year’s Air Fiesta. The Air Fiesta is an annual event for the entire family, held on the grounds of the Brownsville International Airport.
